Landing LinkedIn Clients the Easy Way (+ Video Tutorial)

The Premiere Issue. LinkedIn gurus ain't teaching you this...

It’s Wednesday and that only means one thing - the Freelance Income Accelerator newsletter has arrived! And today is the PREMIERE ISSUE.

Are you excited? I am.

In each weekly newsletter, I cover one burning ❤️‍🔥 freelance topic - and by the time you’re done reading, you will be at least 1% closer to your dream income!

In Issue #1 (today, the premiere), you will learn:

  • How to get LinkedIn leads to actually care about you

  • The quickest way to turn a lead into a client via networking

  • and finally, a Loom video at the end about how I network effectively (and how other freelancers have networked with me).

Total Reading Time: 4 minutes.

Are you ready? The only valid answer is YES. Let’s dive in!

Have you ever noticed how so much knowledge being shared on LinkedIn is often generic and not actionable?

Gurus, large and small, tell you what you should do, but not how.

And networking? Networking is one of the biggest things that they fail to teach.

Let’s get this straight - networking is the biggest purpose of LinkedIn, NOT:

  • Building personal brands (this is a relatively new LinkedIn phenomenon)

  • Hosting and joining voice and live events

  • Posting daily selfies

Not gonna lie, these are amazing things you can do on the platform, but they don’t really push your brand all the way to the finish line.

I often talk about the need for CARE when networking with others. People don’t really give a darn about your product or service, but they will if you build human connections.

And how do you build human connections? You show them you care. But how is this done?

How to care, and why caring matters 🫂

From a human POV, you don’t just come onto LinkedIn to post and engage. Some people do, but those people aren’t building anything.

You come onto LinkedIn to share your wins and your failures. You come to LinkedIn to educate, to inspire, and to help others.

And on the way, you’ll meet people. Leads or not, these are people with their own pain points and struggles. In their careers, in their lives.

This should be the point in which you connect with them.

Your first message to another LinkedIn user should never be a pitch. It’s:

  • Disrespectful, because they don’t know you and honestly don’t care

  • Amateurish, because nobody who is serious does this these days

  • Fake, because you come off as a bot or salesperson

Instead, warm them up by connecting with a friendly note. Mention where you saw them, who you have in common, what they do.

Then start engaging with them. Their posts, their comments on other posts.

DM them to congratulate them on their victories. Give your condolences on their failures.

Care, and they will notice you. Care… they will care back.

Finally, don’t be afraid to be BRAVE when networking. Nobody is inaccessible. You can easily reach out and land a collaboration with the top LI influencers…

You just have to hit the right buttons.

In today’s premiere video tutorial, I will cover this subject down to the details. It’s a Loom video, so I’ll even give you a nice little presentation. 🥰
